I uprgraded my 2013 Macbook pro to El Capitan and now whenever I attempt to play Sims 3 it says there is no disc even when the disc is in the drive. I deleted the game off my computer, downloaded it through Origins and I'm still getting the same error insert disc error message. I have spent the last three hours trying to fix this and I'm getting extremely frustrated can someone please please help me!

I have moved your post to this stickied thread specifically about the disc error issues.
Have you downloaded and installed the digital patch?

Hi,
I have read a lot of your tips but am yet to solve the problems I am having with setting up my games on my new iMac 2017. I would really appreciate it if you could help me.
Problems that remain:
- Getting past the black screen when starting up
- If getting past by bypassing the launcher, game tells me to insert the disc although it is already inserted.
I used to play on a iMac 2012, which I had no problems with at all.
I have all expansion packs and stuff packs installed.
I also have a lot of content from the Sims 3 store installed, and I wish to keep it whilst playing.
I have tried to find a solution to my problems for a few days. Since I have no saved data (as it's a new iMac and I didn't save any of my previous games), I have been trying reinstall etc, but nothing works.
If you have any tips please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
Best,
Paulina
