So I know this is the solution but here's the problem. I downloaded the base game, Late Night, Supernatural and Seasons as well as High End Loft Stuff over two years ago and since then have completely lost my game codes. Does this mean my game is completely unsalvageable?
I don't know what else to suggest, the fix does work so long as you follow all the instructions correctly, which I'm sure you have. As a last resort set up a new user account on your Mac and try playing in that.

If you don't, did you register them on the old Sims 3 site? You could contact EA and see if they can provide them to you - http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/
thanks for your help so far. i try to do everything over once more. so one question: should i patch my game with the digital patch after i've installed all eps or just after the base game?
Download and install the base game from Origin then download and install the digital patch. Load the game and see if you can play. If you can then download and install your EPs, testing to see if you can play the game after installing each one.
