The Sims 3 on EA app is missing Expansion packs and add-ons.

I recently re-downloaded my Sims 3 game from my library on the EA app (windows 11) while doing so I noticed it said I only had 9 add-ons when I know for a fact I had more than that. I even checked the Sims 3 store page and that also says that I only have a few. I don't want to nor do I have the resources to spend over £200 for packs that I know should be there.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both The Sims 3 and the EA app to no effect. I have tried top see if anyone recently had the same problem and was helped but all of the fixes I've seen no longer work as they are years old.

I even tried reinstalling the Origin app to let it install all The Sims 3 games I had but it just says something about not being able to connect tot the internet so I gave up hope on it working.

I play The Sims 2 and The Sims 4 religiously and it would upset me so much and put me off playing any Sims game to not have all the packs I know I already paid a fortune for.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Kirstie-Annie  Which packs are you missing?  How did you originally buy them: directly from EA, on disc, etc.?

Origin doesn't work anymore in Windows.

I had the discs. The main ones I distinctly remember owning are Seasons, Generations, Pets, World Adventures and supernatural.

  • Kirstie-Annie  Do you still have the discs, or more specifically the codes that came with them?  If not, do you have access to a computer where these packs were installed?  You could probably still find the codes in the registry:

    https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/09/how-to-find-your-serial-number.html

If you do find the codes, contact EA customer support.  If you have the discs themselves, take a photo for each pack showing the disc, its case, and the product code (clearly readable).  You can upload these when you submit the help request.  The codes are what the support rep will need though.

I would strongly suggest using the live chat option rather than email.  If you don't see it, try this link:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=the-sims-3&topic=missing-game&category=manage-my-account&subcategory=find-missing-game

Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.

Alternately, try using the help site without being signed in.  Some categories of issue allow you to proceed without an active login, and many of those offer the live chat option.

If you don't have the codes, but you do find your discs, you could still try with support.  I wouldn't expect to get anywhere though.

Aside from that, the only other possible fix is if you registered these packs on a different account, and can find that account, you could have a support rep merge it with your current account.  Try signing into the EA App with any email address you have, and click "Forgot your password?" if necessary, to get a password-recovery email.

  • This exact thing happened to me- I actually know I had the entire collection of sims 3- which is what led me to buy sims 4 as there no longer was new packs for me to get. When I messaged customer support about it I got gaslit that it must be because I owned the game for Mac and it doesn’t work for any other product or it was never owned- again- not true as it be hard to forget if I owned an entire collection or not. But I still have the same issue and it’s been months- even though some of the games I have physical copy of(some online code)  they just try to say I must have registered them to be „Mac book only” yet it’s not there either.

    Heya miszialala9955

Are you missing all your packs, or only a few?

It sounds like you may have the 64-bit Mac version of your packs on your account- if you need the PC version of these packs that's something live support can look into and get manually added.

Live support can get these added for you, please submit a new help request on the site here so the team can review this with you. I'd also recommend you attach this forum conversation when you reach out so the team has further details to reference.
