Downloads Dashboard in the Sims 3 game is not working

Did you buy those items and are you supposed to own them ? Do you have Origin installed ?

Yes I bought those items and I have an Origin account. I don't even bother trying to install from the Downloads Launcher in the game anymore. I just go to my Purchase History and download from the Sims 3 Exchange. I just don't understand why EA would put a Launcher in the game that does not work.

Yeah, but do you have the actual Origin Client installed and not just an account ? Ingame store doesn't work well if you don't have the client installed.

Can you download those items thourgh the launcher ?

The Downloads Dashboard used to work in the past. Because it doesn't work anymore, I just use the Downloads Dashboard in the game to make a note of what is missing and then I just download from My Purchase History in the EA Store. It was a very good idea to have a backup of all your purchases so you can download again if the item did not download previously. This prevents anger from rising because no one wants to pay for something and not see it appear in their game. Thank for your help.

no more laptops. I find if my laptop gets too hot while playing the Sims 3, the game will start lagging and then some graphics start disappearing in Buy/Build Mode. Before that happens, I hopefully can save, then I go the the Main Menu and let my laptop cool down before going back in. The Sims 3 uses an enormous amount of computer resources, and I have a brand new laptop, 1 TB of hard drive space and 8 GB of RAM, and I still find it difficult at times to keep my sanity whenever I receive code errors or the game just stops working.

Thanks for sharing your help. Before I start up the Sims 3, I usually delete the cache files and delete the browsing history from my computer. The game runs fine as long as I do not play it very long and cause my laptop to get extremely hot.

For some reason the first part of my message was missing. I wish I could give you more than 1 EP for all the help you have given me. I updated Origin so hopefully some of these problems disappear. Thank you for taking the time to help others.
