EA app not giving a download directory

EA App will not create a folder for The Sims 3 to be installed. When I try to download the game, it shows the first image. There is no directory labeled "The Sims 3". When I try to create a folder, it will begin downloading, but starts with the add-ons I have. But then gives an error message. I was able to download the game 30 minutes ago. But it did not give me the option to include the add-ons. When I tried doing so it gave me this error again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hey, Yes I also wanted to update here that I was able to download the game too one day that I randomly tried to. I'm glad to be able to play the game now, thanks for the heroes that helped here!

  • Thank you for sharing. Sadly, it is still not working for me! I wonder what is different.

I updated the EA app, and re-installed the base game, but no luck.

The base game installs fine, but EPs continue to give me an error message.

I am currently having issues were the EA app downloaded the game file itself, but seems to be putting all the expansion downloads on pause, and when you click to download it gives you an error message.  Most of the posts that I have seen have all dated back to the start of 2023.  One of the first things that I saw was "Make sure that the EA App and the EABackgroundService are NOT running in the Task Manager, then launch the installer and see whether Origin opens properly."  Well, for starters, you are no longer able to download the Origin application now, and even if you are able, the Origin application automatically forced you to downloads the EA app.   The EA app is automatically starting the EA Backgroundservice file when it loads up, and if you stop or end the file, the EA application crashes.  Clearly you are not able to load the Origin application, because I have tried multiples times, and it is going to upgrade to the EA app regardless of what you do.   All I do know is, that I was able to download the game file, but not the expansions, even though I have paid for them. I have a brand new Alienware gaming computer with Windows 11 software, but I have also tried the new software app on another PC with Windows 10, and I am having the same issue.  I do not understand why it has taken EA so long to establish a patch or fix for this issue, we clearly can no longer use the Origin software, so why hasn't EA done and update for the EA app?  I am assuming that I have downloaded the latest version.
