ea clean uninstall not working

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to remove sims 3 leftover install material found in my control panel (but uninstallable) from my pc so I can do a clean reinstallation? It ends up with 2 versions of each game/stuff pack plus, it's odd to me that there is no request for registration codes when reinstalling using the discs - my game won't play once fully installed and I think this has something to do with that. I would appreciate any advice that can be provided - searched internet & forum for days with no luck. Thanks!

  • TwinsMah  Have you restarted your computer?  Sometimes this data is cached and won't be flushed until a real restart.  If that doesn't or didn't help, and the game is currently uninstalled, you can use Piriform's CCleaner, and the free version works fine, to clean the registry, specifically removing any Sims 3-related entries.  Be sure to search for Sims , not necessarily Sims 3 , as I know of at least two folders listed that way.

If the game is currently installed, you can use Revo Uninstaller (the free version) to remove the game and associated hidden files.

If one or both of these don't help, please post a screenshot of what you see in the Control Panel, for reference.  Please also search the registry for Sims and let me know what you find.  You can do this manually: click Windows key-R, enter regedit in the run box, and run the search.  I wouldn't suggest deleting anything unless you're sure you know what it is; feel free to ask about whatever you find.
