Error When Sims 3 Is Loading

When I try to load a game it goes to a black screen with a message saying 'A serious error has occurred while loading 'Sunset Valley.sims3'. It is strongly recommended that you restart the application.' and some games it doesn't bring up the picture of the family and says 'Cannot load this save game. It may have been saved with an expansion pack data that is no longer that is no longer present on this system' although I haven't made any changes to whats installed.

Hi, thanks I contacted EA and the sent me a link to download a new patch which fixed the problem, thanks anyway though.

@keeks2605 try loading a backup

To restore a backup, do the following. Let's assume that your file name is called Sunsetvalley.sims3

Go to documents / electronic arts / sims 3 / saves

You'll see a Sunsetvalley.sims3 file and you'll see a Sunsetvalley.sims3.backup file

Rename the Sunsetvalley.sims3 file (right click on the file and choose "rename") to newbackup.sims3123

Rename the Sunsetvalley.sims3.backup to Sunsetvalley.sims3

Now try launch the save - let me know how it goes
