Every time I try to play my Sims 3 Nightlife extension a grey box pops up and says "Unable to start game service initialization failed (0x024e424f)"

I've tried going into control panel to remove/uninstall it to try and re-install it but when I do I get another grey box that says "An error (-5005 : 0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Electronic Arts (http://www.thesims3.com)." And when I go into My Computer-Local Disk (C)-Program Files-Electronic Arts there is none of the game content in the files. Just about 2 months ago I was able to play this game but now when I tried playing it again this is what keeps happening, please help I don't know what to do! My computer is a 2002 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
