Game crashes at specific times (all saves)

At this point I don't know what else to do without uninstalling/reinstalling and hoping the issue goes away. My game crashes at specific times in each save, and I don't know what is causing it. For example, I might make it to 6:35 pm in-game and the game will freeze and crash at that time, every time.

The freeze/crash time is not consistent across my saves, but something is causing it to happen in all the saves. In a new save, I can usually make it until about the first day of a new fall season (I thought maybe the festival lots updating might be in issue?) before crashing. The problem started when I was playing around with mods and I might've had some things in there that unknowingly conflicted. I tried moving my mods folder out and onto my desktop, and no changes. So there's no NRAAS, no UI mods, or anything else I can think of that could be messing me up. Maybe some outdated CC? I have no idea, but I really miss playing. Please help!

  • 00SELAH00  Sorry for the late reply.  Does this happen in any world, or are you playing in different worlds and seeing the same thing?  You've removed your mods, but have you tried a clean user folder?  As in, move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, allowing the game to generate a new folder the next time you open the launcher.  This is the only way to be sure your data has no lingering effects from mods (other than the ones that go in Bin, like the Smooth Patch) or custom content.

puzzlezaddict Thanks for the reply! This does happen across different worlds. I recently moved my Sims 3 folder out and let the game make a new one. I played a new save for a while with no issues, until the inevitable happened. It is back to freezing and crashing. The only difference is that it seems like the game tries a little harder to push past whatever is causing the crashing.

  • 00SELAH00  What world did this happen in, and what time did the issue happen?  Did you add any mods or custom content to the new folder?

For reference, please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

puzzlezaddict This has happened in Sunset Valley and Bridgeport. The in-game crash times varied between two different saves, each in one of the worlds I mentioned. The new folder does not have any custom content or mods installed to it, so it may have more to do with my laptop.

    Here is the dxdiag.
