Game Frozen, Can't Quit

Apologies if this question has already been asked. I downloaded the new 64 bit version of the game last night and played for about 20 minutes before it froze. However, when I tried to quit the game, it wouldn't close. It's been stuck frozen in the background for 24 hours. I haven't been able to force quit or shut down my computer. Is there any way to close the game? I'm not worried about recovering the save at all. Thank you in advance for your help!

  • @punkbees  Try cmd-optn-esc to bring up the Force Quit menu, then select Sims 3 from the list and force quit.

If that doesn't help, open the Activity Monitor (in Applications > Utilities), click on the Sims 3 entry, click the X in the upper left corner of the window, and click Force Quit.

As a last-ditch effort, you can always restart your computer, the option under the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.  Make sure that the box to reopen windows is not checked, so the computer doesn't try to launch Origin and Sims 3 after rebooting.
