Hi, so I have a problem with my game crashing.
I have Sims 3 pets, seasons and late night. I also have CC but I don't think that's the problem.
My game keeps crashing constantly. I can play it for about 2-3 hours and it suddenly goes to black screen and nothing is responding. My home screen then gets bigger. I have to shut everything down so later everything can go back to normal.
I have a compaq 615 and microsoft windows XP. I hope that helps.
Hi, so I didn't buy a new laptop (or desktop) but we did upgrade our laptop to windows 7 and we expanded our memory. I reinstalled all my sims 3 games and I installed sims 3 ambitions. It worked okay, but when I reinstalled all my cc it started crashing again, could that be the problem? I can still play it for a while but then it crashes and goes to desktop with a notification -sims 3 stopped working-
Depends on your custom content. If you have bad stuff, it could cause crashing. Did you try just adding a few things to see if it still crashes ?
(if you need further help with this, I think it would be wise to revoke the solution (options on the post accepted as solution and not the solution) so the helpers actually check your thread.
I'm not sure if custom content causes crashing. I've read somewhere that Peggy's hair causes crashing. Is that true? How can I find out that my custom content is causing my game to crash without uninstalling everything?
And one more problem occured, sometimes when I'm saving my game a message pops out and it says that my game can't be saved.
Hi, so my Sims 3 game keeps crashing. I already posted this once, but now I expanded my memory on the compaq 615, I also got Windows 7. I had to reinstall all my cc (and I have the mods folder in which I have hair, body slider and skintones), I have Sims 3 Late Night, Pets, Seasons and Ambitions and I'm planning on getting Generations, Island Paradise and University. The problem is that I can play for 1-2h (depends) and then it crashes. Could it be the cc? And how to I find out without uninstalling everything? And recently I've been having problems with saving my game. When I'm about to save a game it says that it couldn't be saved. Then if I'm going (while playing my family) in CAS, while I'm entering it just turnes black, all I see is the loading thing. It works fine while I'm in CAS, but as soon as I exit it crashes. What do I do? I really can't afford a new laptop currently, but I really want to play for longer than an hour or two. And I want to get those EPs. Help?
The problem is there is a big difference from Windows XP and Windows 7. You have to get reference drivers now as HP (Compaq) does not support Windows 7 on that computer. While upgrading the operating system on an older computer may work for business applications, you may not see any improvement (may be worse) with games. Your hard drive storage is partitioned very unusual so it's hard to say if that is causing a problem.
