game not launching

hi, so a few days ago i restarted my computer because i was having a lot of issues with it, i didnt back up my sims 3 because some of the issues i had were with the game, so i set up my laptop as a brand new laptop, so i downloaded the sims 3 onto my computer, including all my packs, i have no cc or mods installed because i dont have a sims 3 folder in the ea folder in my files because i havnt gotten to play it yet, i went to go launch the game because i wanted to play it but it will not launch, ill hit play (ive tried on the ea app and the shortcut on my desktop) and it acts like it is going to launch but then it will just bring me back to the ea app, it wont even give me the sims 3 launcher either. i tried uninstalling the game and reinstalled with only the base game and im still having the same issue. any help would be greatly apprecitated!

  • imemilysteward  You may need to manually install .NET Framework 3.5.  Click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and the .NET runtimes will be near the top of the list.  Click the empty box to install .NET 3.5, and restart your computer.  If the box is filled in, click it to uninstall, restart the computer, reinstall it the same way, and restart again.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
