Game not letting me edit hairstyles

Question

My game will not let me edit the hairstyles, which I find annoying. I read that I have to uninstall my game. The problem is I would have to uninstall my base game, then it would automatically uninstall expansion packs. I can't find all the regestration codes or discs, so now I'm stuck. I really need some advice. Does it have something to do with custom content or cheats? Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files &nbsp;and make a backup.

No reinstall involved with this solution. My guess is it's either a faulty hairstyle or if you're using mods, it could be that.
