oh boy...i was hoping to avoid you having to buy the base game again
☹️ seems you have to get the base game in Steam for the DLC to work
if your base game is Origin it will not work with steam (steam versions only work with steam)
if your base game is in Steam it will not work with Origin
however you can get your code from Steam and put them in Origin

If i just buy the base game at Steam, will I get the product key all of the DLC i get from the Gift? I tried to "Activate a Product on Steam.." it doesn't work.
why do that when you have the base game already in Origin
did you get an email with the steam code ? use that code in your Origin account
and what DLC is it exactly ?
I got it as a Gift. So I did not receive any Product Key or Steam code (even in the email it only says i have receive a gift and ask me to install Steam to get it)
As i follow the instruction, it says I need the The Sims 3 base game.
DLC The Sims 3 Island Paradise and DLC The Sims 3 Showtime.
And i can't even trade this game ☹️
