Going back to the present (Into the future bug)

Hello, I've got a problem with Into the future. My family can't go back to the present. After a while loading, my game goes back to the "future" home and I don't see any of my sims. Do the following clues may be the cause of this bug?

- My principal sim married with someone who lives in the future;
- They have a child together.
- My guy sim got abducted by aliens and had a child.
- This guy also got abducted another time (still with the first moodlet).

    couple of things you can try launch your game then use the save as give the game a new name  go to edit town if you can switch to another family play them for a few mins then back to edit town and see if you can save a copy of your family to the library if you can do that you may habve to start a new game with your family but you will at the least have saved them  

    or use the save as give the game a new name  go to edit town clcik on your family lot move out move back in

    and or go to your the electronics arts/thesims3/saves folder find your saved game for example a save i have is SSV.sims3 the backup is SSV.sims.backup move the saved named game to the desktop then carefully rename the back up by removing the .backup

    clear the cache files

    delete the cach files go to electronic arts/the sims 3/

    •compositorCache.package
    •scriptCache.package
    •simCompositorCache.package
    •socialCache.package.package

    it's safe to delete these files as a new ones will regenerate

    how many sims do you have in the future world ? and do you have control over any of them even just one sim ?

    I have 4 sims (2 adults and 2 children). When I try to return back to the present, it loads a bit and then the screen comes back to my future home, but I can't do anything, I don't see any sim and I can't control anything. Thanks for your answer.

    I really tried everything you suggested with a lot of hope, but nothing worked. I tried deleting the caches, edit town (I couldn't play with another family because I was in the future), etc. I copied my save file and I desintalled and reinstalled all my games and I retried everything and that didn't worked either ☹️ At least, my last hope was to copy my family and create a new game with this family. I haven't lost everything, but still, it remains a mystery to me :/ thanks a lot for your help and support ! 🙂

    your welcome 🙂 and there where times i had to kiss a game goodbye but being able to save a copy of the family to the library was one of the things that did work and i didn't loose the family  that was a relief
