HELP! The Grim Reaper is GONE

Hellooo.
So, I have The sims 3 pets with add-ons seasons and generations, on my PC. I have the mods, MasterController, Debug Enabled, woohoo, consigner, overwatch, errortrap etc. All the important ones.

I messed up and invited the Grim Reaper to the household, I was too fast and clicked on the invite to household! Then I kicked him out and saved as usual, then a sim died and he didn't show up. I think that's what messed everything up. Because I can move my household, I can't go to edit town, I can't do anything like that, I can go in to build-mode and stuff but as for the rest, NOPE. Because this pic shows up. (This pic is not mine, I didn't have the computer in front of me, but it's the same message, so I borrowed it)

I have tried EVERYTHING. Reset each sim, tried clear cache, gone to the cityhall and reset there, tried going through debug enabled, tried inviting a sim in to kill it, tried killing a sim in the household already. Tried going out, repair the game, go in, go out. No animal is dying, no sim is dying, no sim is even in the oldest age. I've tried to reset the grim reaper, I saw him as a normal sim, but it was complete black, but the name was grim reaper as usual. Have a messed everything up?
Nothing helps. I have played like 10 generations, I really don't want to create a whole new world. Please help!

The game should create a new Grim if you TA the first one.  It might take a few in-game days to do so, which means you kind of just have to hope and wait.  But what's clear is that this version of Grim isn't going to do his job, so you might as well get rid of him now.  You can also turn off aging for now so that if and when another sim dies (active or not), the game doesn't get stuck again waiting for the Grim that hasn't regenerated yet to show up.

By the way, if you can't add the sims back through Edit Town after evicting them, use MC's Add Sim command to add back the sims to the house.  Write down their family funds before you start so you can adjust it if necessary—the Add Sim command gives the household 20k in funds.

And now that I think about it, you could try using Add Sim to add the previously-dying sim to a different household instead; that might be less disruptive.  "Save as"/quit/reload and it should be fine to add the sim back to your household.

  • TanniB  Try using NRaas MasterController to evict the household.  You'd need the MC Cheats add-on to do this.  If it doesn't work, NRaas DebugEnabler has a Move Household Out command run from the lot's map tag.  You can move the sims right back in when you're done.

Use "save as" rather than "save" after testing this, so you can revert to your old save if this doesn't work out the way you want.

I would also use MC Total Annihilation on the current Grim.  The game should generate a new one that works properly.  And yes, moving Grim in is probably what broke things.

Thank you for this! I'm going to try it right away!
MC Cheats add-on, you mean that there is a masterController cheats for add-on or is it called the same just cheats after?
Also, if I do a total annihilation on the current Grim now when he is like a normal person, do you really think the game will generate a new one?
Yes, I definitely shouldn't have done that :)

Oh my god! It worked when I did a total annihilation of the grim reaper. A new one showed up like a few minutes later!
I couldn't move the household, even through MC cheats, I tried with one sim, the entire household, through the cityhall, nothing happened when I clicked on the button, like literally nothing. But when I removed the grim reaper it worked!

Thank you so so much for your help, I didn't know I just had to do that! <3
