@carlyrulz11 Please move the Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. If it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and let me know. Otherwise, try again to play.
If that doesn't help, create a new admin user account on your Mac, login to the EA App, repair the game (Sims 3 > Manage > Repair), and try to play in that account. Don't link the new account to your Apple ID; you should be able to skip that step.

Hi @puzzlezaddict thank you for your help! I tried moving the sims folder to my desktop but it still gave me the same error. I then created a new admin account but when I try to repair it says there is an installation error. Have you seen this or know what to do? Again thank you so much for your help I appreciate it!

@carlyrulz11 Try uninstalling the EA App, as described here:
Remove these leftover Origin files as well, if they still exist:
https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/
Then reinstall the EA App and try again to repair the game, first in your main account and then in the secondary one if that doesn't fix the error.
If that doesn't help, where is Sims 3 installed? If it's in Users > your username > Applications, that would be why the repair isn't working in the other account. You can drag both the Sims 3.app and the "The Sims 3 Packs" folder directly into the main Applications folder, as in, the "Applications" entry in the left panel of a Finder window. They need to be moved together. Then you should be able to repair in the new account.
