How do I install the Greenhouse Venue?

Hi gsmary,

Make sure that your empty lots are large enough for the venue. I'd choose "Visitors Allowed" as Lot Type. You can't go wrong with that.

I bought the greenhouse and do not know what world it can go in i tried a few but would not work

it can go in any world you have as long as that world has the right size lot you have to find the right size lot and if the lot is set as a residential then you need to change the lot type to community lot then in the drop down menu to visitors allowed  so for example the lot size i need is 40X40 i go to edit town the three dots then click on an empty lot to find the lot size usually looking at the lot from  map view will give you an idea if it's a big or small lot so pick one that looks big then click on the lot to change it to community  then in the drop down menu look for visitors allowed then in the  community lots library bin the third tab find the greenhouse click on that then click on the lot and place it in the game  once the venue is the way want it facing the right way (use the arrows to rotate the venue ) then click the back to game 

There is no community lot big or small enough to fit ,not fit ,or highlighted to place the community or venue into.  You know when click PLACE, no lot is highlighted in green or red . Nothing at all .So how do one place anything in the town that isn't a house?

What icons do your lots have ? Is their type set to community lot ? Do they show like empty lots or do they maybe have an empty house on them (The icon should tell you).

I went into the game so I can answer your question. In edit town..

Some lots are empty and full. They look like house whited colored in or not colored in. The most of the other icons are pinic tables, When I go to edit town as soon as I click " Place" it all disappears giving me no location to place community in lot. 

You want an icon with a picnic table and you want to set that lot to "visitors allowed" (doesn't have to be but it's best), the lot needs to be (as everyone else has said) big enough for the greenhouse. So, let's say the greenhouse takes up 60 x 60 - then you need a community lot of 60 x 60

Okay I went to edit town and I was able to change the lot size , change lot from residental to community and change the vistors allowed or not allowed ,but I still don't see my venues to place on the lots I even selected unhide

 I can't find the venue I've installed

Venues are especially tricky and if you have a lot of content, have the tendency to not install at all.

First make sure that it's really not in your game. You should find the venue in the edit town in the community lot library. Sometimes they don't have a real name but only numbers. The icon they have also varies from showing as Store Content (the little shopping bag) to user-created content (red rosette).

If it's really not in the game, install it again, using this method:

• Close the game and launcher
• Backup the whole folder documents\electronicarts\thesims3 to an external drive or some other safe location
• Move the folder DCCache to the desktop
• Start the launcher. ALL of your custom content except houses and Sims will be gone from your installed content. Not to worry about that.
• Install the venue again
• Check documents\electronicarts\thesims3\library if you have a new file which starts with ebf_ and has the timestamp fo the time you've installed the venue. Start over, if you don't
• Delete the newly created DCCache folder in documents\electronicarts\thesims3 (NOT the one on your desktop)
• Move the DCCache folder from the desktop back into documents\electronicarts\thesims3
• Start the game. The venue should now be in your library and you should have all your stuff back as well.
• If anything goes wrong, replace the whole folder with the backup you made.
