First, it's Mods with a capital M not mods and Packages with a capital P not packages.
Second, the only thing that should be in the Mods folder is the Packages sub-folder and the Resource.cfg file.
Third, the only thing that should be in the Packages sub-folder are the (.package) files.
Fourth, she is using office outlook to read the Resource.cfg file. Why she's assigned that program to read the file is beyond me. If she's running Windows then Notepad would have been assigned to read the (.cfg) file extension by default. She will need to reassign the program that reads that file type to Notepad. She's also got another Resource.cfg file in the Packages folder being read by office outlook.
She has a lot of sliders and I'm not sure if they're updated or not. Another simmer had the same issue, however I don't use them. (.sim) files do not go in the Mods folder, those belong in the SavedSims folder. (.sims3pack) files go in the Downloads folder. She's downloading and extracting (it appears) in her game data folders which I tell people over and over not to do. Download and Extract elsewhere, then cut/paste only the (.package) files.
She also needs to run Dashboard to see if any of her (.package) files are corrupt or conflict.
Her folders are a mess and look nothing like what I have in the instructions.
EDIT: typos
You both need to read CC Basics and probably more, or you going to have issues.
