    Hi,

There are two locations on your Mac in which the game will put files. The first is in Applications, in a folder called 'The Sims 3' - this is where the actual game files are installed. The second location is in Documents, where there is a folder called 'Electronic Arts' and within that a folder called 'The Sims 3' - this is where your saved games etc are kept.

When you are installing an expansion pack, when the installer asks you to select a volume, make sure you choose the Applications portion of your hard drive.

    Hi,

Are you talking about trying to install an expansion pack or the base game? To install an expansion pack, you must first install the base game. This should install the files into a folder called "The Sims 3" inside the Applications section of your Mac's hard drive. Then when you install an expansion, you just direct the installer to the same location. You need to make sure that you have administrator rights to be able to install.

If you continue to have problems please give a bit more detail about what you have already installed, what you are not able to install and what error message appears.

So I discovered the problem, and you might've also by now,

the installer is searching for a file titled "The Sims3.app", but EA programmed the actual game to be "The Sims 3.app".

So go to your Sims 3 folder, and right click on the main icon you click on to play the game, click get info, and under Name & Exension modify it so there's no space between Sims and 3. That way the installer can find the actual file it was programmed to search for.

    It should work now!
