I installed my Sims 3 Starter Pack and it told my that it cannot verify that it is authentic.

I installed my Sims 3 Starter Pack and it told my that it cannot verify that it is authentic. It told me to contact customer service, help? It doesn't show in Origin in my games, and origin won't  connect me to customer service. It says in Origin that description/order placeholder and status processing?

  • I'm having the exact same problem with Starter Pack (discs). Base game won't register through Origin, or show in the launcher. Both EPs worked fine, (as well as 5 digital EPs I purchased AND digital bonus content), but not the base game. I contacted CS, and we talked about my problem for about 45minutes, and didn't get the issue resolved. She even told me that my code was registered under my account at sims3.com, but kept asking me if I have a different email. I used the same email for sims3.com and Origin.com, as well as the same username. I had to answer my security question for origin, then had to send a picture of my discs. When i tried to send the picture, i got disconnected from Eloisa L (Assistant), and then saw a notice of Support and game server maintenance, 12/16, so I never got the issue resolved, since I couldn't reconnect with her.
With all this trouble, should I just blow another $20 for a digital copy? My code worked through sims3.com, but was invalid in Origin launcher. How is that even possible?? Should I have registered through the launcher before registering with sims3.com? I don't have internet access at home, so I have to go to the library for any downloading, etc. Otherwise, I only have my phone to use, which is how I registered my game and all the EPs I bought (and can't play). Everything else seems to work, except the base game.
I am using Windows 8.1 on my PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to get this to work for two weeks now and I'm about at wits end!
    * I forgot to mention, I wasn't able to patch the base game before, due to "invalid disc" error, but yesterday I finally managed to get the patch installed.

I would try a game advisor again. It's weird that your base game does not show as registered which is necessary if you have the Starter Pack with Origin requirement.

  • Yeah, I thought that was pretty weird too. After spending MUCH time messaging with three different advisors, my ultimate answer was to re-purchase a digital copy and return the disc because there is something wrong with it. I really hope I don't run into all these types of issues when EPs for Sims 4 are released... With all the problems I've been having with The Sims 3, SimCity Complete Edition, SimCity 4, and The Sims Bundle for IOS, I'm starting to feel I can't trust EA anymore. I never had any issues with Sims 1 & 2, or SimCities 2000 & 3000. I don't understand why only their console games work properly.
  • I really hope so. I haven't made it to the library to try it again. I'll definately be going there when they open today. Going back and forth to the library and still no resolution to my issues is really frustrating.

Well, it didn't fix the problem the way the last advisor told me it would. He told me put in the new code and you're good to go. That didn't work. I had to uninstall the game, then download it through origin. After that, it only took a few minutes to get all the EPs added. I already had them downloaded thru origin, just not installed. My game is working now, so I tried to buy the last two EPs of the game that I don't have, and my payment wouldn't go through. I contacted CS AGAIN, and this guy was a **not nice person.**. He first sent me a link to a 404 page, and I told him that. Then sent another message. And waited. Then he comes back with "looks like we were disconnected, I'm going to go help someone who needs it". I gave a reply back and told him that I was sending him messages that he wasn't responding to. He told me to just go find a store that sells EA game cards. Nice way to treat loyal customers. I still want to get those EPs, so I guess I'll have to get some help from a real person. Weird that after all the money I've spent through my origin account, now suddenly my credit card doesn't work. It worked fine at the liquor store on my way home.
I love the games but support is terrible.

*Sorry I used a word that got censored. I only called him a word that rhymes with "work", I didn't realise that word was disallowed. Won't happen again.
