I was having some serious problems with my Sims 3 game crashing a few months ago and uninstalled it. Just a week ago, I reinstalled it and have begun playing.
I have the original Sims 3 (of course) and three expansion packs installed (Town Life Stuff, World Adventures, and Supernatural). This time around, I did download some custom content from The Sims Resource but have deleted them from my program files and uninstalled/deleted them off of the Sims 3 game launcher; my custom content is no longer available in gameplay, nor does it appear in the game launcher.
The last time I uninstalled Sims, it was because of script error messages, game crashes, game freezes, and failure to save. This time, it is starting to do the same things.
My script error reads:
Line: 0
Char: 0
Error: Script Error
Code: 0
URL: http://be.sponsorpay.com/assets/web_client.js
I'm just learning all of the ins and outs of patches and updates, so I'm not really sure what this pop-up script error window is all about. I've just recognized a correlation between the error message and crashing/not saving problems. When my game actually crashes and shuts down with no warning, it tells me that Windows has detected an error and is searching for a solution. Of course, a solution is never found and my OS [Windows 7] makes an executive decision to shut down Sims 3. This error window appears as soon as the Welcome page on the game launcher appears.
As of today, the following list is up-to-date: Origin, Java, Flash Player, Adobe Air, .Net Framework, and Windows.
My game launcher shows that my game is up-to-date as well, running version 1.67.2.024001.
I have restarded the Sims 3 game launcher since I confirmed these program updates, but the error message still shows up.
I use Google Chrome (Internet Explorer just runs way too slow for me. Should I be using it for downloads instead? I am not even sure if IE is still on my laptop, PC)
Clicking yes or no on the error script page seems to have no effect in any way.
I have no idea what ad-blockers are. Do you mean like pop-up blockers? I'll need clarification here.
I'm in the USA.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. This is my all-time favorite game and I really want to find a solution so I can start playing like I used to.
