Solved

Installed my first Origin Expansion Pack only for it to not play. Help?

I originally had The Sims 3, Pets, Showtime, Generations and Ambitions on disc, and already had CC installed, but I swear it isn't that because I had played it only a few hours earlier. So now it doesn't work, only showing me the Windows 7 loading cursor on a black screen, and as I ctrl-alt-del, the Task Manager says "Not Responding".

Please help? :/

I'm actually reinstalling all of them now, but I want answers so if it happens again after that I can at least know what happened and how to deal with it.

    Actually, all I needed to do is download the Sims3Dashboard from ModTheSims and use that to clear the cache before I begin the game. It works every time, though I need to make sure to savethe game every 30 minutes, and save the sim I am building (if in CAS) after every clothing change (I mean, if you've just finished doing a casual outfit, then save the sim to bin before going on to formal) then it should work fine. And if you want an autosave feature I recommend Awesomemod. You can set it to Autosave every 30 minutes by using their custom settings, but make sure you make it save while unpaused, because if not, it wont Autosave unless you press pause.

    So yeah, I'll just set this post as the solution, as it solved my problem the best it could.

    Er... well, my game doesn't even crash, perse. It just sticks me with a black screen which makes me have to do the ctrl-alt-del thing to get out of.

    And yes, I have custom content and mods, but the game even played once because I had reinstalled everything, but then I added a few more mods and boom... it wouldn't work. I even took out the last few mods and restarted my computer and then played the game but it still stuck me with that black screen.

    Suernatural worked just fine until the launcher auto updated.  Now as soon as I try to load the game from the launcer, I get the black screen and hourglass! I have tried re-install the game and loading with NO CC....NO LUCK!!!!

    Actually, all I needed to do is download the Sims3Dashboard from ModTheSims and use that to clear the cache before I begin the game. It works every time, though I need to make sure to savethe game every 30 minutes, and save the sim I am building (if in CAS) after every clothing change (I mean, if you've just finished doing a casual outfit, then save the sim to bin before going on to formal) then it should work fine. And if you want an autosave feature I recommend Awesomemod. You can set it to Autosave every 30 minutes by using their custom settings, but make sure you make it save while unpaused, because if not, it wont Autosave unless you press pause.

    So yeah, I'll just set this post as the solution, as it solved my problem the best it could.
