Internal error 500 - can't fix.

So, I recently bought 2 DLCs from EA App for The Sims 3. And since the purchase, the game is showing me that the error occurred. I can play with already existing content and log in via game itself but not via game launcher, therefore I can't download any new content or DLCs. I looked up on how to fix it and tried resetting, clearing cache, cookies, history, etc. Even re-installing the game and the app and turning off and on my laptop. None of them seem to help and I contacted the support via chat, but it's been unhelpful so far and despite my efforts to explain that I already tried the methods they recommended, we didn't really reach any conclusion besides mentioning my problem on forum. Can anyone help and explain on how to fix it? Because I'm also considering uninstalling everything (game and app) and install the game with CD to see if it will resolve the problem.

  • Namedycyne  What DLC did you buy, and where are you seeing this error?  You shouldn't need to login through the launcher to install Store content, if that's what you're trying to do, and definitely not to enable packs in the Expansions & Stuff Packs tab.

Roaring Heights and Dragon Valley, both gold edition. The error shows up on my game launcher where basically my EA account would show up. So the games technically show up on my EA account as in game content but they aren't in the game so I decided to redeem the codes, the app couldn't redeem them so I used ts3 site (thesims3.com) that EA recommend. This way I added DLC to the account and had to download through the site. When downloading, game launcher opens and in order to download the content I need to log in through the launcher but I simply can't due to error and it shows me the log in screen over and over.

It was never a problem before, I used to redeem codes and the game worked fine so I don't really understand what happened?

  • So, uh, the game fixed itself? It glitched and started to work properly out of the sudden? I guess I won't be questioning it at the moment?

  • Namedycyne  I don't know how it fixed itself, but that's better than the other way around.  Clearing Edge's data was the right move, specifically the Internet Explorer-mode data, as that's what the launcher uses even if you don't.  And you shouldn't need to login through the launcher in order to install the Store content, but perhaps that was part of the larger issue that has not cleared up.
