Launcher crashes when I open the downloads tab in Sims 3

I play on Mac and ran into this problem as well. I have downloaded both EA and CC worlds in the past, so when I tried to download a new world for my legacy gameplay it kept crashing when I clicked the downloads tab. Even when I double-click the file, it says that the sims3launcher cannot open the file type. Hopefully, there is a solution soon. Because I can't run mono on my Mac, I can't get it to work in order to convert the sims3pack file into a package file.
