prinxcipe For the stuck connecting issue, open Keychain Access, in Applications > Utilities, search for sims3 , and delete any entries you find. Before trying to connect again, clear Safari's cache and cookies, and also remove the Downloads folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. This should clear all data related to signing in or downloading content.
Once you've done all that, try the Downloads Dashboard again. If it doesn't work, let me know whether you can successfully log into the launcher. There's no reason you should have to, but it's a useful test.
