Okay, I will go try that. Hopefully this works. I figured buying the games on sale on steam was my chance to have all my PC games on one platform.
Didn't realize it would cause hiccups.
I am still getting the same message, even with a clean EA folder.
Not as bad as before but still getting it.
Edit: Now the store page itself is telling me I haven't purchased anything.
Finally on chat and once again the agent doesn't understand. They think its an issue with the game itself. Even though I specifiy the store.lol

@graceymanors For your missing content, the store site may just be having a hiccup. It happens.
For the CD key, I'd suggest getting a refund for the base game from Steam and then buying it again, but please hold off on that until tomorrow; I'd like to get a second opinion on this issue. Just don't play the game tonight: Steam allows for refunds for up to two weeks after purchase, but only if you've played for two hours or less.

I had also bought the expansions and DLCs as well. If I refund the base game will that refund those to?
I will wait until tomorrow.
I bought them seperately. The complete collection didn't come with the base game.

@graceymanors The refund for the base game should not affect your pack purchases, or at least it didn't affect someone else who did this a while back. But just to be safe, don't register your packs yet, that is if you haven't already.
I've flagged this thread, but it'll take until tomorrow for someone to look at it.

Ok thanks for flagging it for me.
I did already register the games and it looks like the dlcs
the agent had transferred to my correct account as they no longer show on the wrong account.
I will check back tomorrow.

I have so much store content, that having to download each piece takes forever just to figure out which items are doing it. It seemed to have been fixed as I got through 3 pages, but now its doing it again.

I'm sorry you're still having troubles with this error, but thank you for the update!
At this point, I'd recommend reaching out to Steam support for a refund on the base game. Once the refund is processed, you can re-purchase it via Steam and register it to the correct EA account to clear these errors up.

Unfortunately steam is unable to issue a refund for me as I had already had gameplay of 21 hrs before I realized my store items were installed.

Okay, so I got a refund and rebought the game. Got it registered....and still have the same issue.

So I removed the sims 3 and steam. Redownloaded Origin and the game that way.
And I still have the same issue. It seems like origin is doing the same, but it looks like the steam version because its 1.69 patch

Karritz over on the website is also having the same issue as I am. And she doesn't have/had origin.

@graceymanors I've just successfully downloaded a world and a set in my macOS (version 1.70) and Windows (1.67/Steam) installs, with no error messages. So the store isn't down overall, at least not at the moment.
I have a few questions for you. First, can you ever download anything at all right now? I often get the "you don't own this item" message the first time I try to download something, but refreshing the store page fixes it. If you can't download your store content even after refreshing, can you download something that's supposed to be free? For example, Riverview or one of the free holiday decor sets:

If you start the game, can you login at the Main Menu? If so, can you download anything from the Downloads Dashboard? (At the Main Menu, click the three dots and then select Open Downloads Dashboard.) Please let me know whether you even see any owned items listed there.
And I take it you're currently using an Origin install? If you have the patience, it would be interesting to know whether the Steam install lets you downloda content now. You could download only the base game, to save time, if you wanted.

I am able to download some of my items. but some items I'm not. I can login at the main menu just fine, but still get items not owned message.
I'm able to download things from the exchange okay.
I'm back on the steam version. I could not get origin to run properly.
Its mostly the free items that are giving me a message, but occassionally some of my bought items do.
Like out of 16 items on a page, 7 of them will give that message.
After 4 hrs of tedious work I got most of it installed, but I still have the same message.
Karritz is also having the issue where the launcher is telling her the same. And when she's on the site
itself it tells her to buy instead of download.

@graceymanors I'd be curious to know which items are still affected. I only tried a few last night, just to see if anything worked at all. It would be useful to know if affected players have any items in common, or if it's just random.

I just remembered something.
The issue started happening after someone tried to gift me a store item. And the purchase didn't go through for some reason.
It took their simpoints, and it shows up in my purchase history but gives me the error I don't own it, when I go to the item's store page. It asks me to buy it.
And that is when all my other items started acting up. I got on live chat and they said they couldn't find any purchase.

@graceymanors That's interesting about the gifted store item. Which one was it, and when (more or less, if you don't know exactly) did this happen? I've been gifted a few items in the past, none of which went through the first time, but it worked in the end and I can download all the items now without trouble. On the other hand, these were all part of sets I was able to complete later, so that may be overriding any problems with gifted items.
As for the items that won't install for you, I don't own all of them, but I was able to successfully download and install the six I tried. I downloaded Farm Fresh Folk MSM Trailblazer, and the wind chimes from my purchase history; and the halter dress, halter top with beads, and faire folk jar from their product pages. All showed up properly for me.
Is there anything these items have in common, for example were they also gifts, or are they older or newer than your other items?

Its a mixture of older and newer items. I keep trying to contact EA on twitter, but they aren't fully understanding my issue, probably because I can't explain it well.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you, as when I contact them, they don't really grasp what I'm saying, I even provided screenshots. I'm at a lost on what to do except for creating a new steam account and rebuying the games all over again.
