[MAC] Game crashes suddenly
Whenever i open my sims 3 on mac, it will open properly and you can choose or create a family but when u go to move them in the game will crash and go back to my desktop. Please help!

OK. What is your patch level, how many TS3 expansions do you have installed and how much RAM does your computer have?
I only have high end loft and fast lane stuff packs. How do i see how much ram i have?
Click on the Apple logo at the top left hand side, then choose "About This Mac". It will give you some basic info including "Memory", which will tell you how many GB RAM you have installed.
@crispinwall, if OP has at least 4 GB I can't see how the base game and 2 stuff packs would crash the game unless op has been saving a while and is playing with origin "The Ram Hog" on. I wonder if the new patch and origin update is attacking mac users too??
- The game works differently on a Mac, BGH22. It can crash on my iMac with 16 GB RAM if I don't frequently purge the available RAM manually. Having 4 GB may be adequate but maybe not. At the rate Cider uses up RAM, 4 GB can be used in a flash. To the OP: let's see if we can get to the bottom of this. So are you starting a new game or are you creating/choosing sims in an existing save? Do you use custom content? Are you patched to at least 1.63?
- Says 2 2GB memory slots both in use which accept 1333 MHz DDR3? and 100GB storage is still left
This is what EA states about minimum reqirements for Mac. Since you only have the base game and 2 sttuff packs I wonder if your problem is Origin

ORIGIN REQUIREMENTS FOR MAC The Origin client needs to be able to run on your system in order for you to play The Sims 3.
- 150MB of available disk space
- OS X 10.6.8 minimum
- Intel Core 2 Duo processor
