@Creaky - because Cider is so unpredictable and unstable it could be anything. What are the specs. of your Mac? How much RAM do you have? When I load up my game it uses an additional 2Gb RAM just to get to the menu screen. It then uses a further 1Gb when the town is loaded and playable.
