Missing Sims 3 World Content Since transferring to EA Play

Hello! I'm making my own post now in desperate hopes that someone can help me. preferably someone from EA if they're around, as customer service has already been vaguely unhelpful and said someone could help here.

So, this is being posted after my 4th time contacting EA Help and finally, they have expressed that it must be a bug and to report it here/they will send it to their team. I have just reinstalled Sims 3 onto my new computer, something I have done previously and it has worked pretty much fine. However, this time around, I am missing 2 of my Sims 3 worlds: Hidden Springs and Monte Vista. I have the codes still because I hoard game codes and things, but the worlds are no longer showing up in my account's purchase history on The Sims 3 store. YET, when I put the code in to redeem it, it says that I already have it/purchased it (or rather, "You are already entitled to this item"). Glad it's acknowledging I have it, not glad I can't access it.

I have already rebooted my computer, I have reinstalled EA Play, I have tried reusing the codes, and I don't know what else I can do on my end because the issue must be within the system.

Anyway, the last customer service rep told me to come here. Post on my own and upvote anything similar. It's nice to know I'm not the only one having issues.

I've attached pictures of the content not registering for me.

  • @CherryWolfy01  Can you download the worlds from their product pages?  It's not going to work right now because the Store overall is down:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Error-503-The-Sims-3-Store/td-p/13393644

But once it's fixed, that would be the first question.  I've had worlds show up in my purchase history but not be accessible through their product pages, and others have reported the opposite.

Depending on when you looked for the worlds, it's also possible that your purchase history wasn't loading correctly at the time.  The Store site not loading at all appears to be new as of today, but maintenance was a few days ago, and perhaps that broke something right away too.

It's a holiday weekend in the U.S., so there aren't many EA community managers around at the moment.  If you need to hear from one, you may need to wait until Tuesday.

I appreciate the help regardless! However, it does not seem to be working either way. It still says I'm entitled to the items when I put in the codes, but it's not listed in my purchase history nor will it let me download it when I locate it separately through the Sims 3 Store. It's so frustrating T-T

@CherryWolfy01  Do the worlds show as owned on My Page?  They'd be on the left side of the page and below your owned expansion and stuff packs.

Hi! Yes, I did. Or rather, there was a mishap in my account a few years ago and they ended up finding two, so they merged them to my understanding.

Im getting ready to merge two accounts and received this in my email.

If they have The Sims 3 content on their account: If you play The Sims 3 and have purchased Worlds for your game, the Worlds and any game saves you have with Worlds will be inaccessible. That means you will not be able to play any of your game saves and would need to create new ones without Worlds to play your game.]

Does this mean the Worlds will not be available even if I redownload them?

I wanted to be sure I was understanding it correctly.

@Quiqzal123  What this means is that your ownership of the worlds cannot be transferred from the old account to the new one.  You should be able to buy the worlds again, if you're interested; or you can simply merge in reverse, preserving the account that owns the Sims 3 content.

If you install the worlds first, then merge your accounts, the worlds will likely stop working, along with any other Store content you own.  All Store content is encrypted, and your new account's details won't match the data stored with these items.  This will be true whether you buy the worlds on the new account as well or not.  But if you do buy the worlds in the new account, you'll be able to reinstall them, and they and any saves that require them will load fine.

    @CherryWolfy01

    Thanks for those details!

Unfortunately when you merge accounts, any purchased or extra content from TheSims3.com will not transfer over and will be inaccessible- this means Worlds as well like Monte Vista and Hidden Springs.

You should have received this disclaimer prior to merging your accounts:

If you play The Sims 3 and have purchased Worlds for your game, the Worlds and any game saves you have with Worlds will be inaccessible. That means you will not be able to play any of your game saves and would need to create new ones without Worlds to play your game.
