Moving Sims Games From One Computer to Another

So, on my old computer, I had bought the sims 3 base game and a bunch of expansion packs. The old computer had the disk availability and that is how I downloaded the game on that computer. Although, I think I had made an EA and origin account and put the games on there. So I am trying to play on a different computer, and I have signed in with the same EA and origin account but the only game that was available was the base game. Is there some way for me to get the expansion packs off of the old computer and transfer them to the new one? Like I said, I have bought the expansion packs and everything I just want to make sure I don't have to but them again.

I'm having the exact same problem! I even bought an external disc drive to install my games onto my new pc, but I can't do that, either. It requires Origin to install, but Origin doesn't exist anymore. I really hope someone here can help!

  • B3RCH23  You'll need to contact EA customer support.  First, take a photo for each pack showing the disc, its case, and the product code (clearly readable).  You can upload these when you submit the help request.

I would strongly suggest using the live chat option rather than email.  If you don't see it, try this link:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=the-sims-3&topic=missing-game&category=manage-my-account&subcategory=find-missing-game

Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.

Alternately, try using the help site without being signed in.  Some categories of issue allow you to proceed without an active login, and many of those offer the live chat option.

funk_mandy  You'll need to use the EA App rather than Origin.  If you can't register your Sims 3 content and it's not already attached to your EA account, please see the above.

I have spent quite a bit of time with two different people on their chat support. Even after they "tried some things" on their end, none of my EPs or CC are showing up. I can launch the base game, but I'm starting over with just that. EA's support basically said they can't help me and I need to contact the retailer from where I purchased each game/EP.

  • funk_mandy  I'd suggest trying with one more support rep and specifically asking them to remove these packs from your account (if they're there), then add them back.  It sounds like you have enough proof of ownership that a support rep would be willing to do this for you.

For your custom content, that's a completely separate matter.  What happens when you try to install it?
