My one saved game got deleted

I actually had to create another admin profile on my computer for sims 3 to work. Since I can't get rid of one drive I chose this solution and it has worked beautifully. 

ladykyera999​  If you need to keep OneDrive running in general, there are two options not covered in that guide that might work better for you.  One is to simply create a new admin Windows account and play there.  Make it local, as in, not tied to your Microsoft account or any email address (you can keep declining until you get some security questions instead), and it won't hook into OneDrive.  But your main account will still have its current setup.  You'd just need to switch accounts when you wanted to play, or at least when you wanted to play in live mode rather than building or creating sims.

The other option is to use the registry edit in the guide I linked to move Documents out of OneDrive, while leaving OneDrive running and syncing your files overall.  The key here is that OneDrive only syncs data within its designated folders.  Sims 3 uses your Documents directory, wherever that is.  So that directory could be here:

C:\Users\your username\Documents

while OneDrive is still syncing whatever you put here:

C:\Users\your username\OneDrive\Documents

You would of course need to manually move or copy any files you wanted to sync, but that might not be a problem if it's an infrequent occurrence.

Ok I will try to make it not sync my sims 3 files. I need to keep one drive because I use it for college. Thank you for all your help. If I have any more questions I will post on this thread or I can direct message you whichever you prefer.

So I did add the sims 3 folder to my device by right clicking and picking "always keep on this device" but I still keep getting error 16. I have been using save as... and then quit because that is the only thing that works. Otherwise if I just try save it'll give me an error. 

ladykyera999​  Not to be a broken record here, but Error 16 is often related to OneDrive, and it's not going to stop happening unless you deal with OneDrive.

Separately, I would strongly suggest using Save, then Quit > Without Saving, as two distinct steps.  The problem is that if the save doesn't work, the game will go straight to quitting, not giving you a chance to try to save again or otherwise preserve your work.  If you use Save and it fails, you get a chance to respond.

I honestly don't remember which save had the error 12. I also don't remember if I was in CAS or build/buy for a long time. I doubt it. It usually just occurs when I try to exit the game. I usually hit save and quit but that hasn't been working. I either get an error 12 or 16.

ladykyera999​  Yes, that's what I wanted, although you could just list the values (1,735.4 and 1,817.1 MB) in the future.  The point here is that in this save at least, you're nowhere near the danger zone in terms of RAM use.  And your computer has enough memory installed that it's unlikely you'd be using it all while playing.

Do you notice a pattern of the Error 12s?  As I mentioned, it's an out of resources condition, and the resource in question is usually memory, but not always.  If you get the error after spending a lot of time in CAS or Build/Buy, that might be the problem.  Both use extra resources that the game doesn't completely release when you go back to live mode.
