My SIM can't return home after gratuation!

HELP!

My Sim got stuck in Hidden Springs. The car that always picks her up at University, dropped her off in Hidden Springs. Usually a taxi cab will show up and drives her home. In this case, they dropped my Sim on the other side of town (on the complete other side where she actually lives). I can't see my Sim panel. I can't control anything. I can't give her tasks. The name of my Sim is also incorrect. She goes by the name Emily, and all of a sudden it's Crista -something-.

My Sim stood there for about 2 hours and then got inside. In another house! It isn't even my home! I can't send her home either. Her boyfriend (who has just moved in with her - became roommates after college) is at their actual house. I can see the house and everything. And I can still enter the build mode.

How am I supposed to solve this?

I've read something about a bug. Something about inviting people over to your graduation (which I did... a BUNCH of people) and then your game will starting to have some troubles. I invited people. None of them showed up.

This is actually the third time she gratuated from University and the first and second time I invited people over for my gratuation and the game was fine. I could return home without any troubles.

Luckily I did save my game before the graduation, so maybe someone can reset my game to the moment she is about to graduate? My computer did not make a backup though...

Please, please... Help me out! I do not want to start over!!

    If i am correct the sim has a small amount of money now and can buy their own home,  none of my children sims were able to move back   home but had to buy their own house.  so i suggest you buy or make a house for your sim  and save up money for when the parents pass away so you can save up to buy your old home.

    Hi! 😕mileytongue:

    So i think i know how to fix this. 

    First Hold Ctrl Shift C and type TestingCheatsEnabled true

    Make sure you typed it exactly the same as that ^

    Next Shift click on the sim who seems to have moved households and click 'add to family' 

    She now should just be added to your family.

    Then Shift click on her again and click 'Edit in Create a Sim' And it take you to create a sim where you can change her name back to how it was

    Okay.. So when I shift + click my Sim, I get 3 options:

    - Object (delete object)

    - Trigger Age Transition

    - Edit Sim in Create a Sim

    Do you know what to do next? That would be awesome!

    All her traits and stuff are missing by the way...

    She also has no lifetime wish (I just had complete her lifetime wish though).

    After I restarted the computer, I followed your instructions again. Now I had the option 'add to family' (plus the option 'favourite music'). I clicked on it, and my cursor changed from arrow symbol to the symbol of a house. I clicked on 'town map', clicked on my house and clicked on the 'active household' (clicked on the house and on her roommate).
    However, when I was at my house, the cursor was no longer a house, but a arrow again. When I moved a couple of feet from my Sim, the cursor changed already.
     
    When I go to my original house I can give my Sim only a few tasks. Some objects work, others won't work. She can use the stairs, she can't use the telephone. The computer the CAN use. So I thought I let her enroll in University again. But no... She returns to her new house.. A small cottage near the water.
     
    The computer didn't make a back up (did not activate that option), so that's useless too. I'm affraid my whole storyline is gone 😕mileysad:

    My Sim has zero Simdollars and can't buy a thing.. And she can't do any work, because all the tasks I give her she ignores. She does her own thing at her own time... BOOHOO 😕mileysad:

    Then you hit  your self a  seeemingly breaking glitch or bug and i would suggest you to load the save you said you have  ( copy the file to somewhere else just for savety) and do the graduation again

    I did. And I tought that my second to last save was before gratuation. But apparently I did save the game twice after gratuation (not that I can remember), so after starting up my back up game, I ended up in Hidden Springs again....
