Namn locked thread

The person just wants to know how to rename their account. You can translate them in Google instead of insisting someone who is not English to speak English. It just seems discriminatory to me when there is so much online that can translate. You need to be professional and treat your costumers with respect.

  • Due to security issues it is EA's request that for now this forum be English. Most users of these forums are in the US. As this is a forum for users by users people who have trouble will get a better response if they post in English. Many users will not bother to use a translator to reply. I don't think it is discriminatory when you consider what some past posters have posted and accounts getting stolen. The forums are much cleaner since EA tightened the rules and considering there are many young adults that use these forums there needs to be controls. EA does not have to provide these forums. There are many third party forums you can visit. If air traffic controllers are required to speak English I don't think this is an unreasonable request. I believe there are local sites around the world so you could try them.

As to your issue - you can not rename accounts and you can not reregister your games to a newly created account. This issue can only be addressed by an EA game consultant.

  • That's the rules EA Staff gives us.

This forum is english with some sections in German, French and Russian but other languages are not supported. More langauges can be requested through the idea exchange. Sure you can use google translate but imagine if eveyone starts to write in their language and you have to translate everything to make sure they're not saying something that is inappropriate and breaking the TOS. It does take extra time translating stuff and it will explodes if everyone is doing it and if you allow one, you have to allow them all. One post might not take a long time, but 100 posts will.

So they get locked and people are asked to post in english.

Also be aware that we are just users here (mostly), already spending hours upon hours on here everyday to help you guys out. We're not paid to do this work but take it out of our spare time. If we would need to start translating post after post, that would make that even more hours.

It might be a pain for the user, but they can use google translate just as well and make their post in english.

    Hope you can understand that.

  • I did not realize only volunteers help out here. I  understand what you are saying Crin. I am just disappointed in the game right now and I see people asking for help who are not getting any help. I am good at troubleshooting machines and I have had many issues with the game. Like many people I find that It is disappointing when I spend so much money on Sims 3 and then the fun is taken out of the game because of the many issues the game has. I am English but it upset me to see a non English person get blown off. We all put a lot of money into the game. No matter what language we speak. the issues with trouble shooting need to be resolved for everyone. Otherwise they are just going to walk away from the game feeling like they have been ripped off.

I did not want to rename my account. It was the person who did not speak English who wanted that. The only issue i am having right now is uploading. Which has been very frustrating. It is the only reson I have been lingering here today. Unlike most of the people here I am not a young adult. I am an elder. Still the game does have a lot of issues. No matter what age a person is or what language they speak. Yes many forums with no answers to the many problems lol. Thanks for answering my question guys.

You should go check out some of the other forums on here. The SIms 3 forum is very well answered. There aren't many people that don't get an answer within 24 hours. There problem might not be solved right away and in some cases they are never solved but at least someone is answering.

As for your issue, the whole not uploading thing is not something I understand well so I can't really help. There's too many factors but I'll try to locate your original thread to see if I have an answer for you.

  • I don't think I started a thread. I found one with the same issue and mentioned that I have the same issue. I also told the person what I do to troubleshoot the issue but this time my solutions are not working for my current situation but have helped with uploading issues in the past.

I found one that you've started and answered in that. It was originally about not being able to login.
