New computer: do I have to buy the games again?

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying a new laptop soon, as the one I am currently using is five or so years old and is becoming very slow. I love sims and have several expansion packs, so obviously I would like to continue playing sims on my new computer when I buy it. I am concerned, however, that when I first installed the game and expansion packs, it asked me for a code to make it work. Are these codes for one-time use only, or will I just be able to install the games on my new computer and use the same code? If it won't work, is there any way I can make the game work on the new computer without having to buy the games all over again?

I have read that if they are registered on origin, you might be able to do it. Is this true? I definitely have an origin account and I assume I registered my games because I have all of the extra stuff you can download when you register it online.

    if you haven't already download Origin to your computer  log into your Origin from the shortcut icon with the email and password you use for your account  right click download

    the sims 3 and origin use the same email and password alos if the games are regestired in the Sims 3 they auto reg in Origin and vice versa

    please also take note the layout of the games has changed in Origin if your games are missing after that you must contact CS

    store DLC items hair/clothes/worlds/sets download and install from the sims 3 account-my store account-purchase history

    Codes are just the ones you redeem when you buy a sims EP card, and I'm assuming you bought it online. The codes aren't for one-time use only. I would suggest downloading origin (Putting the code in if you still have it if you bought a card), if that doesn't work I would contact EA.
