os x el capitan and the sims 3[Mac]

I've recently upgraded my mac to OS X El Capitan, and I seem to be having problems with my Sims 3 game. Origin logs on normally, at least to me it seems, and it seems to load the game properly until it reaches the main game menu (Where you'd either start a new game, choose what town or previous saved game to play), and a window pops up saying that I need to insert the disk in order to play even though it's inserted. I've already restarted the computer only to end up with the same results, and I searched online and it seems like other people have had the same problem as me, and it all seems to connect with the recent mac update. Some people are suggesting it has something to do with origin, but I am not entirely sure what exactly is causing my game to do this, or if they were referring to the sims 4. If someone can help me fix this I would greatly appreciate it! On a note, I do NOT have a beta version of OS X El Capitan, since I know people where having problems with it when it was still a beta...

@Bluebellflora   please and thank you in advance
