I have this problem too. Mine says "Update Error: I/O operation failed (attribute modification)."

Yes I tried to install it six time myself. It added the update vesion but I will try to run it to see if it works. I saved my game under a different name. I hope their are no glitches that crash the game.

Someone posted in a similar thread that EA is working on it and to check tomorrow.

I have the same problem and I have tried to update it a few times

I still have issues to get it downloaded and installed, and ive been trying sence yesterday and so far i have gotten the same message that i have a error in the file, anyone got any ideas how to fix this? Cause i really need my game to be updated ☹️

If you are getting the invalid file error with the latest patch there is an issue patching thru the launcher. The manual cumulative super patch works. You can dl at the first post in the technical forums at thesims3.com. Here is a direct link - patch 1.50

scallihan1 - your problem looks more like an antivirus problem. Do you have administrator rights? Is Origin up to date?
