Purchased Sims3 games not showing on Origin after Windows 10 clean install

Hi,

I upgraded my Windows from 8.1 to version 10 yesterday night, first I did carry over all of my apps and files including Origin and my Sims3 game + expansions; after activating my copy of windows 10 I proceeded making a clean install of the OS, so all of my data would be wipe, once installed and logged in I did install Origin and when I logged in I had the surpise that all of my Sims3 expansions where not shown within my origin games library, when I log in on my page http://mypage.thesims3.com/mypage/MixieMil88 I see all my registered games in there.

Can somebody please provide me with some help?

In the latest Origin update, the location and the layout of The Sims 3 games have changed. Before the update, the base game and each and every expansion pack and stuff pack had its own individual tile.

Before the update, it looked like this:

After the update, you only have the base game showing:

To find your expansion and stuff packs now, right-click on the Sims 3 icon and choose View Game Details. Scroll down and you'll see them there.

As you can see in the above screenshot, some EPs are coloured in, some are greyed out and others have a + sign on them.

    • Coloured means that you own it and have it installed
    • Greyed out means that you own it, but it's not installed
    • + sign means you don't own it at all

To download your games, hover the cursor (your mouse) over the game you want (you can also click on them or right click on them) and select download. Origin will then startup the normal downloading process for your game.

I've checked and mine shows that various packs need to be purchased but I've already purchased all of The Sims 3 games and packs

@TashaDoll  Are you sure you're on the right Origin account?  Sometimes people find that they've registered their packs to a different account, or added them to their Sims 3 Store account under a different email, which amounts to the same thing.  (The store and Origin share information.)

If this isn't what happeend to you, try clearing Origin's cache, and if that doesn't help, uninstall Origin "the hard way" and reinstall.

If these steps don't help, you'll need to contact EA customer support to find out what happened to your packs.

@puzzlezaddict I'm positive I'm on the right account as it is the only account I've used for the Sims and all of the games show up on my old computer and I still have the disc that were not bought online

@TashaDoll  If you never registered your discs, they wouldn't show in your Origin library.  It used to be that Origin would honor disc installs that came from unregistered packs, but that's not always the case now.

If you never used the codes, you can still add them to your account now.  In case you've lost the inserts, here's how to find them on your old computer:

    https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/09/how-to-find-your-serial-number.html

Otherwise, you have two choices.  You can go through EA support and try to get the codes back on your account somehow.  Photos of the discs along with the inserts (with codes showing) would be very helpful.

Or, if you own disc copies of all your packs as well as a base game disc manufactured before September 2012, you can do an all-disc install without Origin involvement.  Let me know if you want instructions.
