Question for experienced simers
I really need help. I had a lot of experience with sims but this time I feel like I can not get my head round what is happening.
Common problem - black loading screen...
So I have noticed scrip mods really make that happen...
I have fixed this issue before when I cleaned all mod folders with over 900 items in it. There was one mod which was causing all the game issues and that took me ages to find.
This time is a bit complicated.
I was downloading some stuff cc and mods.
Noticed my cc would not install through the launcher and would bring '' not responding'' installation in black only after a while me installing my cc . So I tried installing things one by one ... same issue... Removed Mods folder and it worked.... But...
Every time I put my Mods folder back in and try to start the game there is black screen and game is not loading...
I know what you going to say... Issue with the Mod folder! It is but I deleted the mods which I have downloaded and all my old mods always worked but not this time.
I tried placing them by little folders and it seems like all my organised folders seem to cause issues. For example : my Nars folder is fine .
I am so fed up... I know my organised folders worked before...
And yes I have deleted cache files.
Where is the issue? what could effect my old mods? Is it possible that few new mods or loads of cc could have effected my old mods?
Any advice would be much appreciated as I am running out of ideas ... I don't feel like I want to pull each mod and keep trying the game as its over 900 of them ☹️ .
Thanks ❤️
@Garage_Queen I think the best approach at this point is to download a fresh copy of the Mods Framework and all your NRaas mods, add those, and then start downloading new copies of your other mods and adding them. I understand that some may be hard to find, but many aren't, for example Buzzler, icarus_allsorts, velocitygrass, and several others host their mods at Mod the Sims. The reason I keep suggesting that you download new copies of the mods is that you can make sure you have the latest versions of all of them rather than having to compare version numbers or dates.
If a fresh download of a given mod causes problems in the clean folder, with nothing else in it except for other freshly downloaded mods, please let me know which mod or mods aren't working properly.
With an Origin install, you wouldn't have received any updates to Sims 3 itself, and an Origin update wouldn't affect how mods work.
