Saving in Sims Bin
I am unable to save houses, sims, lots in the saved bin file. Every time I do they disappear when I go back into the game. In other words I save them in the bin but when I go back into the game they...
That's weird.
The files for the bin should be saved into a folder called documents\electronicarts\thesims3\library. Do you have that folder and does it have any files in there ? Also are you sure you're saving them to the bin and not exporting them (in which case they would be in the exports folder
Exchange: Are you using save file or add to game ?
Well I have checked that folder and it is there, but nothing is in there. In fact I don't ever remember there ever being anytjhing in there and I never knew what it was for. Yes I don't know if I made myself clear but yes after I make a house or sim I always copy them and place them in that folder. So in case something should go wrong with my game at least they would still be in there after the first save.
Not sure if I understand what you mean about the exchange.
Well if the files don't get saved to the library folder (or savedSims folder for Sims) it seems to me that something is preventing the game from writing there.
Can you manually move a file into the library folder ?
You could try if starting the game as administrator makes a difference.
If that folder can't be written to, then the exchange stuff has probably the same issue.
When you download from the exchange you have the option to add the stuff to your game (big button) or save the file (small link). Just wondering which option you are using.
I don't know how to start the game as an administator. How do you move a file into the library folder? What files are you referring to? I just click on add to game when I download from the exchange. It always worked before.
What could be preventing me from saving my lots and sims to the bin?
Is it my computer maybe I have a viruis?
Try right clicking on the icon of the launcher and choose run as administrator
Forget the rest, let's try something else.
