Searching the Exchange

I only have the Sims 3 base game, and a lot of items that come up for the different categories in the Exchange include Stuff Packs or Expansion Packs. That's why I went to Advanced Search on the left panel of the Exchange. I went through the steps, specifying the SIms 3 base game only (for items in the Exchange, under clothing). I tried several plausible variations, yet every time the page went to a Sim stooping a little, with a big 'Oops' next to him, and saying that my request couldn't be performed.

What do I do? I really want new free items for my game from the Exchange, at least until I add Simpoints, but it's a to individually check every item I run across, when most of them require additional Packs anyway.

    Usually you shouldn't actually need the stuff packs. The stuff from this packs that were used should be replaced by proxis. Lately, I'm not so sure if that's true though.

    Did you try downloading any of the Sims/Lots ?
