Sims 3 (64 bit) World Textures won’t load

Hi, whenever I try to play the sims 3 the world textures don't properly load can anyone help?

My specs are

2015 13" MacBook pro

Intel core i5

Intel iris graphics 6100 1536Mb

8GB ram

Mac OS Monterey

  • @peterlouis999  Your Mac is actually under the minimum requirements for the 64-bit version of Sims 3.  That doesn't mean you can't play, as you're seeing, but performance may be inconsistent or not up to your standards.

For this specific issue, what world are you playing in, which lot is this, and is it one you've built or downloaded yourself or the default house for that lot?  Do you have any custom content installed, and does this happen without the cc?  Does it help to change the Advanced Rendering setting within the graphics options?  You'd need to change it at the Main Menu, then quit to desktop before loading the save to see the effects.

Oh i wasn’t aware i was under the system requirements but that’ll probably explain some of my issues

As for the world it’s starlight shores but it happens in other worlds too and the lot is just one of the prebuilt starter homes, also i currently have no cc installed but i do have a few mods (just stuff like overwatch) and no i haven’t tried advanced rendering (I’m currently running the game on mostly medium settings)

Due to all the issues with the 64 Bit version I’ve been considering just bootcamping my mac or getting a new computer

@peterlouis999  I'm happy to try to troubleshoot this with you, but there's not much point if your end goal is playing in Windows.  That's still the best experience, provided the hardware can keep up—I run both and can't even really enjoy the 64-bit Mac version.  Performance is mediocre at best, plus there are a number of glitches that don't exist in any other version.

Bootcamping your Mac might not get you the results you want though.  Your graphics chip would still struggle to run Pets, Seasons, Island Paradise, or Into the Future; in fact, based on anecdotal evidence, it would struggle more in Windows than in macOS.  But at least you shouldn't have the rendering issues.

If you're considering getting a new computer, I could make some suggestions.  Windows laptops that run Sims 3 comfortably start around $800 U.S., with prices a bit higher, relatively speaking, in other countries; sales often bring that down to around $700.  Desktops are similar, but you'd get better performance overall.  So feel free to ask for advice, or to link a computer you're considering, whenever you're ready to purchase.

UPDATE: I turned on advanced renderings and it does fix the texture issue, the only problem is now Pets will crash my game however that isn't too big of a loss for me

@peterlouis999  That's useful information; thanks for letting me know.  And I'm not that surprised that Pets doesn't run properly—graphics chip like yours do seem to have a lot of trouble with the pack.
