  • @Bratzluv  There's no reason you'd need to sign into the launcher to use your new expansion pack, or any store content for that matter.  Packs are installed and validated through Origin; store content can be installed through the store website and downloaded without signing into the launcher.

Having said that, please try changing your password to something with only letters and numbers, no special characters or symbols.  And let me know whether the name of your user account contains any special characters, including accents.

If that doesn't help, clear Safari's browser cache, and delete the file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads labaled [your email].bin.  Then try again.

I've tried downloading through the launcher without signing in and it would say download failed.

@Bratzluv  Try repairing the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Repair.

Please also try downloading through Firefox, which works best with the store.

If that doesn't help, move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, open the launcher to create a new folder, then try to download one item.  If it works, it's easy enough to transfer your existing content from the old Sims 3 folder to the new one; let me know if you need help with this process.

@Bratzluv  Try the same, except in a new user account on your Mac.  Make it an admin account, and don't change any of the default settings.  When you open Origin for the first time, repair Sims 3 before doing anything else.

And please let me know both whether you can sign into the launcher and whether you can install content without signing in.

@Bratzluv  Are you signing into the same EA/Origin account that installed the game?  If not, that's the problem: the accounts need to match.

If that's not the issue, try playing in a new admin user account on your Mac.  The username should contain only letters and numbers, no special characters, accents, etc.; don't sync with iCloud or any other service you normally use.  Sign into Origin, open the launcher, and see whether you can sign in and/or download content from the store.

@Bratzluv  Again, are you in fact signing into the same user account that installed the game?  Please let me know either way.

If you are in fact in the same user account, try changing your EA account's password to something with only letters and numbers, no special characters.

If that doesn't help either, please try using a different connection on your laptop, e.g. setting your phone as a mobile hotspot.  (Make sure it's using data, not your home wifi.)  If that helps, the issue is likely your router or your ISP.
