sims 3 bought from steam but ea app shows different product key

Hello I have bought sims 3 base game from steam 3 days and try to redeem on sims 3 website it showed invalid code error, but ea app showed sims 3 base game in library but sims 3 store website was sims 3 base game icon greyed out so I contacted ea customer support via live chat option and requested the advisor to add extra sims 3 base game entitlement so sims 3 store website recognize my purchase game the advisor said instead they have refreshed my entitlements but on advisor s first attempt they gave me sims 3 starter pack so I told the same advisor that I have only purchased sims 3 base game from steam not starter pack so advisor said that they have refreshed my entitlements again they told me to logout and log in and it worked sims 3 store website showed only sims 3 base game  only starter pack dlc vanished but now ea app showed me different product code than steam issued activation key so I contacted ea customer support team again via live chat but different advisor gave me different answers one advisor both my steam issued code and the code ea app shows both are activated and other advisor told me that maybe previous advisor who fixed sims 3 store website greyed out issue probably help me redeem the code but that code ea app showing I did not purchased and the last advisor I spoke yesterday said we cant validate the code since it is from retailer I told advisor that code ea app is showing I did not received from steam so advisor said in last the advisor who helped fix sims 3 store greyed out icon by make changes that s why I am seeing different product code in ea app it is same code .I am not complaining but don't  know which advisor is correct so can anybody help me at ea forums.

That said, you can ignore this unless you happen to have an issue with Store content or anything else that might be related to the product codes.  In that case, you might need to switch to an EA App install.  So if you want to avoid that, are you within the refund window from Steam?  You could purchase the game again and try to register the new code to your account.

If your Steam and EA accounts are linked, however, the new code might not work either.  I can't prove this is the underlying issue, but there are many reports of Steam codes not working from players whose accounts are linked, as if the EA App detects the code and auto-consumes it before the player has the chance to register it on the Store site.  So if your accounts are linked and you don't want to unlink them, there's probably nothing you can do other than hope you don't see any negative consequences.
