Sims 3: Cannot Login with email. If I go to Main Page, it keeps "Connecting."

I am having issues with playing Sims 3. I use 64 bit & Metal through Origin. I cannot login with my email on the Game Launcher page. The Game Launcher page says, "null" for my email and that my email does not exist with Sims 3 as one of my screenshots shows. I know this email is registered with Sims 3 and EA, in fact I have about 2,000 points associated with it. If I do load the game without logging in, when I am at the main neighborhood page it keeps saying "Connecting" and I cannot do anything. The other screenshot shows this. Issue has been going on for about a week.

I have spoken with about 8 EA advisors and they finally sent me here to have a community manager look at this. The advisors tried resetting my EA password twice and sent me to https://help.ea . com/nz/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/  but there is no DownloadCache in my Origin Application Support folder. A few days ago, I downloaded a reset Origins / update. The game worked fine until two days ago and then, same issue occurred. One advisor said they think this might be a multiple server error. I just want to play my game lol.

  • @Oliviahuffman  Open Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access, search for Sims , and delete any entries with "Sims3" in them.  This should clear up the "connecting" issue.

You can use the Sims 3 Store website rather than buying items in-game.  This is much more reliable, and I'd recommend using Firefox in particular, which is usually more reliable than Safari or Chrome.  Once you buy items, you can download them from the store site and use the launcher to install them without ever needing to sign into the launcher or at the Main Menu.

@Oliviahuffman  Are you still getting the "connecting" message at the Main Menu if you do NOT try to login again?  If so, please clear the Sims 3-related Keychain Access data again and try without signing in, which is not necessary to play.

If this doesn't help, please move the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts to your desktop, delete the Keychain Access data (for the third time), and let me know what happens.

Can you sign into an EA website with your current username and password?  Please test and let me know as well.

By the way, the launcher and game often don't accept passwords with special characters in them, for example & or !, so if yours has one, please change it.
