Sims 3 Continuously Signing Me Out?

Even if I enable "Keep me logged in" the game still signs me out whenever I boot up the game. Also I noticed that Riverview is gone even though I've downloaded it several times. This has been a recurring problem for me back in February, but I just decided to take a break from the game for 10 months.

  • Oh yeah, side note. This problem occured when I reseted my computer 10 months ago. I'm not sure if the most rational solution is to delete the game files but unfortunately everytime I do so I encounter an error which prevents me from deleting the game folder.

  • @Wristrake  The error preventing you from deleting the Sims 3 user folder may be related to OneDrive syncing it.  Try disabling the auto-syncing of Documents:

You may first need to pause syncing and/or cancel the current sync:

Once you've done that, try installing Riverview into a clean user folder and see whether it works.  For the login issue, it may help to clear the cache for Internet Explorer.  Even though you never use it, the launcher does for some purposes.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorite sites.

Hi. Riverview has already been classified as "installed" and yet it does not show up on my world selection. I figured this may be because of the login issue. Also, I tried to clear cache in Internet Explorer, and unfortunately, it still continues to log me out even if I check the "Remember me" box. How do I create a new clean folder again?

Never mind. The login issue has been resolved. Thank you so much.

  • I've found the source of my problem. Seems like the login issue returns once I install Riverview from the Downloads dashboard.

@Wristrake  Does Riverview work properly if you download it from the store site and install it through the launcher?  You may need to clean out any leftover files in the Downloads and InstalledWorlds folders inside the Sims 3 user folder.

I have tried downloading it from the store site and the launcher, and clearing all files of Riverview in the InstalledWorlds and Downloads folder.

@Wristrake  Does the same thing happen if you create a new Windows admin account and install Riverview and play in that account?  Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services or change any other settings.  The username should contain only letters and numbers, no special characters, accents, etc.

Okay. I'll try that if I ever want to play Riverview again. Thank you. Also unfortunately the log-in issue pops up from time to time so I'll have to be patient and bear through that one myself. I've come to the point where it's just a commonly occurring issue and gotten used to it now.
