Sims 3 Create a world issue Please help.

Hello!  I downloaded the sims 3 base and pets expansion from origin and decided that I wanted to create my own custom neiborhood using create a world.  I've gotten really far but for some strange reason when I click on edit in game it never shows my neiborhood.  I've tried saving it, and it still never shows up in the edit in game only the neiborhoods in pets and the base game show up.  Please help me or explain what I may be doing wrong because I'm stumped.
