Sims 3 expansion CD keys

I've had sims 3 plus expansions for a few months now via steam. Recently steam decided to stop working and I've tried literally everything to get it to work but still no luck. Luckily before steam went wrong, i added my sims 3 game and some expansions to origin. So i've had to get rid of steam because i haven't been able to fix it. But there are two expansion packs that i didn't add to origin because i only had them recently. The steam app doesn't work for my laptop anymore, when i launch the app the sign in box comes up but it is just a big black square and doesn't do anything. So going back onto the app to find the codes/keys for the dlc isn't an option (i've tried reinstalling multiple times). Is there any other way to be able to get my two packs on origin using the keys? Steam on broswer works for me just not the app. The packs are still on my registry as well. I know it's a long shot but i really don't want to pay for them again, and origin prices are higher from what i can see. Any help would be great, thanks!

  • @Chloe20039  Yes, you can find your CD keys within your computer's registry.  Look in these two locations:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\Sims(Steam)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sims(Steam

In each location, you'll see a number of files, one with a 20-character code that's the CD key you need to use.  I actually don't remember where the key is located between these two (sorry), and I'm not in front of my main Sims 3 install at the moment, but if you can't find the keys, just let me know and I'll grab a couple screenshots.

@roberta591  This is for Sims 3, not Sims 4, so there's no requirement to link Steam and Origin accounts.
