Sims 3 expansion packs missing as is would be not purchased!

Really need your help..,

I got sims 3 with all expansion packs.

After the Origin update I noticed that some expansion packs are missing ( 3 of them are missing).
I tried deleting catch files using EA help on the website. I reinstalled the Origin and still no luck! 

In the Origin itself it says that these 3 expansion packs are not purchased even though they are installed judging by control panel on pc.

I also tried repairing game but it only repairs Sims 3 and not expansion packs by it's own.

I tried pressing on sims 3 but there is no option to see what expansion packs are installed! very weird.... 

It is really annoying as I tried a lot of things... I did not want to contract EA because I heard they will not reply. 
I even tried installing new EA app but then sims 3 launcher will not even load and bring error.

Sims 3 with rest of the expansion packs does work but I want to play with all of them and they are missing... 
 I will upload some screenshots so you guys have idea. 

Any helps will be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • The EA App is telling me my expansion packs are installed. However, when I go onto the game launcher the packs are not there and therefore are not present in my game. I played the Sims 3 just yesterday and everything was fine, but today my expansion packs have just disappeared out of the menu in the game launcher. I have clicked the ‘Don’t see your packs? Install Packs’ button but it doesn’t do anything. Please help as I’ve contacted EA support and spoken with someone but they just redirected me here. I’ve cleared caches, uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and the app and I’ve searched every forum and information site I can. The person I spoke to at EA said it’s probably a bug?

  • @Garage_Queen  Where did you buy the packs? If you used an unauthorized third-party seller, it's possible that you received a few bad codes.  This is exactly what happens in those cases: the packs download properly but don't show up in the launcher or in-game.  This can happen immediately or after weeks or months of the packs loading properly.

    The only way to find out if this is the underlying issue is to contact EA customer support and ask about the status of your missing packs, not only whether they're on your account but whether the codes are active and valid.

    But you don't, yours is different, and you can reiterate that to the support rep as many times as it takes.

    I have purchased them a year ago or so. 

    I have update. I have contacted EA and they confirmed that these three packs were removed due suspicious activity on my account. Reason was some sort of fraud but they wouldn’t tell me.

    So I am in a process of getting those back they just looking into it to see what’s happening and will remove the ban. 

    It was very frustrating I hope this will never happen to anyone 🥲

    I have used EA online chat to solve this. Super nice lady there I would definitely recommend contacting them if you have same issues as they will help you out.

    Thank you for merging my post. I tried again today (1 day after writing the original post) and still no luck. The expansion packs are all sat in the downloads cue but when I press download it either says “something went haywire” or “something went wrong”. I’m really at a loss and no one from EA seems to be helping me, or can’t help me I don’t know. Really sucks because I’ve had those expansions for a while and spent a lot of money on them.

  • I had this issue as well using EA application. Try using Origin instead. I hope this will sort your issue. If you paid for them you will get those back please do not worry.

    I tried on Origin to begin with but my expansion packs are nowhere to be seen on Origin. I can’t see them in the download cue and I don’t even have an ‘Extra Content’ button when I click on the game. They’ve just completely vanished from Origin. I originally thought this was because Origin wasn’t the place I should be doing it anymore and EA App was the new place I should be. So I downloaded EA App and I can actually see the packs on there but they just won’t download. It’s so frustrating 😭

  • Try to type “sims 3” in the search bar and see if all of the expansions packs you have shows as “purchased” . If not then it should show that you can purchase it. If that’s the case you probably having same issue as me. 

    Did you buy expansions packs on origin or from third part seller?

    When I search them, it says I own them so I still own them I just cannot see them anywhere.

    I purchased them all from Origin so there’s no way there’s anything wrong with them

  • You will not normally see them in the library.

    But to see what expansions packs you have you can just simply go to your library and press on sims 3 game. Then on the right side you will see the button “play” . Bellow that you can choose one of the three options and can access to all of your expansions packs owned. If you see them there and it says that those are downloaded/purchased then you can do few steps for them to work.

    you can either repair the sims 3 and it will checks and sort all expansions packs or try to update it. If not you can repair or install individual expansion pack as those may not be installed for some reason . If that doesn’t work try to clear the cache files from origin.
