Sims 3 Island Paradise Resort Check in Problem and Crashing

When I first started playing the game, there were no problems. The game play was smooth and fast. However, when I tried to check in to a resort for the first time, the game froze. So, thinking it was just that resort, I checked them all and got the same result: frozen game play. Then, I decided to bunk the resorts and move on with the game. Now, every time I play the game, it freezes.

I have read similar posts with these problems. Is there any way to get rid of this hindrance? Someone please help me.

**UPDATE**

Now, I can't even play the game. The game loads, then freezes, then crashes. Just lovely!

This is a confirmed bug you are right only thing to do is make sure EA know about this so they can fix it.

I have the same problem, live on the island, going to college, but whenever I try to check into a resort the game freezes. I do not own any of the resorts only partners in a few other business and own the bookstore. It simply freezes when I step up to the counter to check in. Frustrating.

Overwatch fixes the issue - it's related to your Sim being self-employed while trying to check in. Either install Overwatch (because who knows when EA will get around to fixing it), or take another job.

What did you mean by "take another job"? What job doesn't cause the game to crash?

The issue is related to self-employed careers so any rabbithole ones should be fine.

I think the issue is more than just being self-employed and checking into a resort. I can't play for more than twenty minutes without it crashing. My sim couldn't even make her second paycheck, from a rabbit hole job, before the game crashed. So rabbit hole or not, this is a problem only a mod or EA can fix. And I'm not mod savvy, so I'm stuck.😕mileysad:

My sim is not self employed and I have overwatch installed and yet I am still getting the issue of freezing. Seems like this is a bug EA going to have to get around to fix. Is ridiculous!

Yeah this is totally ridiculous! Have the same issues no matter what job my sims have, no matter which resort or world I play in.

I'm sorry but sims shouldn't have to take other jobs. There are benefits to "self-employed" option. I want my sims to keep this option. Making a sim unemployed IS NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION.

I agree, I love having them self employed so I can actually see what they're doing. Plus, they make more money faster (my favorite benefit). It's relatively hard to get EA's attention on this....the darn Answer HQ is just another forum. Something needs to be done soon. The game just came out, there shouldn't be any problems with it.
